The Campania Region, in programming European funds for regional development, has invested in projects and services to grow people, businesses and the territory by strengthening social cohesion.
‘One Hundred Ways of Saying Europe’ is the publication that describes how, through the ERDF Programmes of the Campania Region:
- companies received aid to modernise production, expand into new markets and improve energy efficiency;
- the skills of young people have been enhanced, creating an environment conducive to innovation, capable of generating startups with new ideas and solutions;
- today more than half of buses are low-emission, metro lines have been upgraded with new trains, old railway sections have been electrified, eliminating highly polluting diesel trains;
- Public administration is becoming increasingly digital, starting with public health;
- with interventions to protect and purify the waters, the aim is to make the Campanian coast everywhere bathable;
- mountainous territories and forests have been made more resilient to climate change;
- equipment has been provided to the municipalities to improve separate collection;
- medium-sized cities benefit from specific development actions improving social, economic and urban aspects;
- The flexibility of Cohesion Policy has made it possible to provide economic support and healthcare to households and businesses during COVID-19 and the energy crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine.
