The Campania Region launches the Public Consultation to update the Regional Strategy for Smart Specialization in Research and Innovation in view of the 2021-2027 Programming. (Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation – RIS3).
RIS3 is the tool that since 2014 the regions and countries of the European Union must adopt to maximise the effects of investments in research and innovation, aiming to concentrate resources on the areas of specialisation characteristic of each territory.
From 17 May to 18 June entrepreneurs, researchers, stakeholders, innovators, economic and social partnership and citizenship are all called to discuss the objectives and priorities useful to promote the growth and competitiveness of Campania in an innovative and environmentally sustainable key, through the portal OPEN INNOVATION of the Campania Region.
Six thematic areas of comparison: Aerospace – Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Sustainable Construction – Human health, biotechnology and agri-food – Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies – Surface Transport and Advanced Logistics - Energy and Environment, plus two cross-cutting areas such as Fashion and Design – Blue Economy and BioEconomy.
In the light of the results achieved during the 2014-2020 period, the Regional Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) will be updated and updated, taking into account technological developments and production systems, the regional research and innovation ecosystem, also in view of the new global challenges highlighted by the objectives of the new Cohesion Policy and the 2030 Agenda.
RIS3, although born as a conditionality linked to the approval of the ROP Campania ERDF, is the cross-cutting strategy to the European Structural Funds and programming instruments with a mix of actions and tools that can also strengthen the ability of the territory to attract resources to support research and innovation.
