Large companies, Start-ups, High-Tech Districts, Research Centers, Incubators. The Innovation Ecosystem of the Campania Region met in Smau Napoli at the Overseas Exhibition on 16 and 17 December. Great ferment and energies in circulation that confirm Smau's role in creating business and exchange opportunities to create new partnerships and open the system to new opportunities.

The innovation system in Campania is growing year on year, confirming its third place in Italy for the number of startups, with the national record of entrepreneurs under 30 and with the highest growth rate for SMEs in the sector compared to other regions.

Among the leaders of the Campania Region, the Councillor for Research, Innovation and Start-up Valeria Fascione (disambiguation), He cited, on the occasion of National Space Day, what the De Luca Board had approved, for the first time in Italy, a resolution paving the way for a memorandum of understanding with ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority) for urban air mobility. An agreement that means the possibility of authorising drone flights for the transport of goods within the Campania region. “The first experiment will be with the Naples2 North ASL – Fascione said – which will connect the Pozzuoli hospital, the Ischia hospital and the Procida hospital for the transport of biological material. It is a start for the creation of a new transport system for goods, but that tomorrow could also be applied to people.  The space economy offers huge opportunities for growth and development and Campania wants to be among the first regions to experience this mode of mobility.”

Among the many realities of the Regional Innovation Ecosystem present in Smau, the‘SEI’ incubator funded by the Campania Region through the PICS (Integrated Sustainable City Program) of Avellino. It is a specialised business incubator – as the CEO explained to us. Vincenzo Vitale – advising start-ups and entrepreneurial teams on accompanying courses aimed at creating sustainable businesses, through the provision of services aimed at strengthening managerial skills and competences, analysing the reference markets, validating ideas and products in the phases of pre-seed, the creation and consolidation of good practices in the field of economic innovation and sustainability
