The Campania Region was present at EURegionsWeek 2025, which brought together representatives from all over the European Union to discuss Cohesion policy from 13 to 15 October in Brussels.
Central, since the inaugural session entitled ‘Shaping Tomorrow, Together’, is the role that territories can have in strengthening resilience and preparedness in the face of climate-related crises, presenting local and European solutions and highlighting transferable practices.
The event, which involved more than 6,000 participants from all over Europe, saw over 200 sessions with more than 300 speakers and also hosted a large exhibition area where the territories were able to show some of the projects of value in progress.
In the large exhibition space, Campania was among the regions that animated the stand dedicated to the institutional campaign ‘A Step forward’, which promotes Italy’s commitment to contributing to the STEP – Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform. Campania, with 581 million euros already programmed, leads European investments in strategic technologies for digital, clean energy and industrial sustainability.
Campania has also participated in the technical discussion table with the experts of the European Commission on cohesion policy, contributing with data, models and good practices recognized at national and international level.
While, as part of the Regiostars Awards 2025, Campania participated in the final of the European competition that rewards the best funded projects, through the P.I.U. Su.Pr.Eme project, a symbol of a Europe that leaves no one behind.
In addition, at Regionsweek, ITI Lucarelli students from Benevento, awarded by the Campania Region for their civic monitoring action in the context of A Scuola di Open Coesione, participated in the Megalizzi-Niedzielski journalism prize, which pays tribute to the memory of Antonio Megalizzi and Bartek Orent-Niedzielski, two young journalists killed in the 2018 Strasbourg terrorist attack while working on European affairs.
