The Program P.I.U.Su.Pr.Eme. supporting measures to combat the labour exploitation of foreign persons is a candidate for Regiostars, the competition celebrating excellence in EU-funded projects in the regions.
Positioned in category 4, for a more social and inclusive Europe, the project that intervenes in the five regions of southern Italy (Campania, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily) and Nova Consorzio Nazionale is part of the national programme to prevent and combat undeclared work and the phenomenon of corporatisation of the Directorate-General for Immigration and Integration Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.
Voting is open from 2 September until 15 October.
Among the actions and objectives of the Project:
WELCOME
Improving housing conditions, helping to overcome the settlement system
Informal and ghetto areas, in agricultural and foreign population-intensive areas
seasonal, also through individual and collective paths of autonomy.
WORK
Facilitate the overcoming of illegal conditions, through preventive actions;
monitoring, control and detection of situations of serious labour exploitation in
agriculture and through the experimentation of pilot projects of social agriculture.
SERVICES
Strengthening health services dedicated to migrant workers, extending the system
information on access to territorial services and offer transport and mobility solutions
to increase the autonomy of workers and counteract the role of intermediaries.
INTEGRATION
Promoting sustainable processes of social and economic integration and participation
active in the social life of the communities of foreigners present in the areas affected by the
project, in collaboration with civil society and other local actors.
GOVERNANCE
Supporting innovation in regional and interregional governance to foster models

P.I.U.Su.Pr.Eme. is one of only two fully Italian partnership projects (the other being Nawamed and competing in the ‘Green Europe’ section).
P.I.U.Su.Pr.Eme., in fact, has been implemented by the Regions of Puglia (lead), Sicily, Calabria, Campania and Basilicata together with the technical partner Consorzio Nova. For the Campania Region, the partnership is supported by UOD 60 09 07 ‘Programming, planning and inclusion pathways in the field of immigration’, which is also involved in other European inclusion projects such as ‘Powgen’ – Power Generation. Powgen is a European project funded by the Asylum Migration and Integration Fund, whose main objective is to strengthen the integration of third-country nationals into the European labour market through sustainable employment opportunities in the renewable energy and construction sectors.
