The city of Naples, together with Milan and Rome is one of the pilot cities of the project MaaS (Mobility as a Service) which provides for the integration of multiple public and private transport services accessible through a single digital channel.

For this reason they met in the Aula Magna of the UNINA Technological Pole of San Giovanni a Teduccio representatives of the Government, the Campania Region, the cities and territories selected for the MaaS for Italy experiments and their partners, as well as opinion leaders on the theme of technological innovations applied to the mobility of the future. A meeting to discover technological and societal achievements and challenges the program related to the testing of MaaS, a project supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for which the Department for Digital Transformation (DTD) is an implementer, with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT).


The Campania Region is committed to ensuring that through digital intermediation platforms, which combine various functionalities and ensure different travel alternatives: from public transport to car sharing, from bike sharing to taxis – users can plan, book and pay for more services according to their needs while making oneunique intermodal travel experience.

A commitment reaffirmed by the presence of Luca Cascone, President of the IV Urban Planning Commission, Public Works, Transport of the Regional Council of Campania and Massimo Bisogno, head of the Special Office for Digital Growth and Transition of the Campania Region – MaaS for Italy contact person for the Campania Region, who recalled the Campania Region’s all-round commitment to implementing digital services for citizens.

Commitment also recalled by the President of EAV, Umberto De Gregorio, He wanted to underline the ongoing work to modernise, including with fibre optics, the entire railway network managed by EAV. An arterial system, he defined, which will provide useful information to users and the service manager.

Among the digital pillars that allow the use of applications such as MaaS, there is the one created by ACAMIR, as recalled by the Director-General Maria Theresa of Matthias. A digital monitoring system that connects the Campania Region’s road fleet useful for the development of digital services but which also has applications in the field of Civil Protection as demonstrated during the EXEFLEGREI volcanic risk evacuation exercise held in October 2024.
