The launch meeting of the project took place in Naples PRHyUS (Promoting Renewable Hydrogen Utilization for a Sustainable and Greener Europe) financed by the European Commission under the Interreg Europe programme with ERDF funds from the 2021/2027 programming period, to promote the adoption of renewable hydrogen technologies with priority for heavy industries, as well as for mobility and heating.
After the measures implemented by the Campania Region to promote the production of green hydrogen in Campania, set out at the beginning by the Director General Economic Development of the Campania Region Raffaella Farina and in-depth from Francesca de Falco (Head of the Campania Region Energy, Efficiency and Energy Saving, Green Economy and Bioeconomy), the project will implement a hydrogen strategy aimed at creating a local market by analysing applications among possible users.

The objective of the project, therefore, as reiterated by the manager of the Campania Region Alfonso Bonavita (PRHyUS Project Manager) is to build a strategy for the industrial use of green hydrogen. To contribute to the aims of the project, together with the Campania Region, numerous partners from different European countries. Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (Italy), Development Agency Region Heide (Germany), Association of Municipalities Polish Network “Energie Cités” (Poland), Free University of Brussels (Belgium) – Advisory Partner, City of Gradiška (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (Serbia)- Discovery Partner, Tenerrdis (France), Regional Development Agency Centru (Romania).
In the coming days, the partners will visit some sites affected by the hydrogen strategy such as the Hydrogen Valley in Battipaglia (SA) and the HZEB (Hydrogen Zero Emission Building) Benevento experimental site, one of the first installations in Europe, on a real building, of a microcogenerator powered by pure hydrogen designed and built by the STRESS High Technology District, as recounted by the President of the District Ennio Rubino.
