The Campania is the region where theMost significant increase in Italy (+22,8%) benefits in specific areas of innovation.
The data emerges from Regional Innovation Scoreboard 2025 the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, which assesses innovation in Europe over the period 2018-2025, with a regional focus.
The sectors most affected by growth are broadband penetration, international scientific publications, scientific publications among the top 10 most cited and indicators for SMEs, including SMEs introducing product innovations, innovative SMEs collaborating with others and SMEs introducing innovations in business processes.
Especially in the sale of innovations, both those to be introduced into the business process (new-to-firm) or to be placed on the market (new-to-market), Campania is one step away from the European top-ten, ranking 11th out of 243 regions.
According to the report, the percentage of the population with tertiary education and participation in continuing education remains to be improved.
