Campania leads the national ranking in the use of European funds for less developed regions. In June 2025, the share of payments made under the 2021-2027 ESF Plus Programme places the Region in first place for spending capacity.

The result was presented on 18 September at the Museo Madre in Naples, during the session of the Supervisory Committee of the European Social Fund Plus. The Managing Authority presented the data on resources used, projects launched and beneficiaries reached, highlighting a governance model that has now been established.

Appreciations came from the European Commission, represented by Adelina Dos Reis, Head of Unit DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the Commission and rapporteur Eleonora Janiri, while the social partners re-launched the need to focus decisively on youth employment and the green economy.

‘Campania is one of the regions that is virtuous for the use of European Social Fund Plus resources, thanks to a proven mechanism for the governance of resources that, over the years, has allowed us to speed up the activation and management of planned operations’.

The meeting was attended by, among others, the Managing Authority and regional leaders, the President and representatives of the Economic and Social Partnership of Campania, a representative of the Ministry of Labour, the Department for Cohesion Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy and Finance – IGRUE.
