The event was inaugurated by the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, who this year is also the main funder of the initiative, through the resources of the European cohesion policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The 54th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival kicks off\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/n7BUsolg2HU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\"It would have been a crime to interrupt an event like that of Giffoni,\" said President De Luca, \"for 54 years, beyond the content that concerns film productions, Giffoni is an event that speaks of solidarity, that speaks of young generations, that speaks of relations of friendship between all the countries of the world, that speaks of future and hope. So it was unthinkable that this event would stop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President De Luca, speaking of the importance of an event such as Giffoni that trains the younger generations, wanted to touch on the environmental issue. \u201cGiffoni is growing a non-ideological environmental culture. We need to protect the environment, we need to protect jobs, we need to protect solidarity.\u201d \u201cIt is a complicated job to do, but we must also be confident because these events help us to increase these sensitivities.\u201d \u201cWe are really proud to tell you that we are at the forefront precisely from the point of view of protection, for example of water heritage. We are the only region in Italy that has a plan for the region\u2019s water autonomy, i.e. we are preparing for future decades with a plan to build twenty hilly reservoirs and a dam in Campolattaro. We have not had in recent years the problems of drought in Campania. But we need to know that this is a problem that we will face for the coming decades and therefore we need to prepare for it.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the Chair invited girls and boys to \u201creason on the facts, i.e. to assess the information coming in, the facts and to form an opinion\u201d. In the short term, an arena for outdoor events will also be completed, while in the near future there is also a project to build a campus.
