The Campania Region continues to invest strategically in sustainable urban mobility, strengthening Local Public Transport (LPT) through the resources of the European Cohesion Policy. The interventions financed by RP Campania FESR 2021\u20112027 are part of an integrated vision that aims to improve the efficiency, safety and quality of transport services, while contributing to the reduction of emissions and the enhancement of territories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the most significant results concerns the renewal of the road fleet. Thanks to the resources of the Program, they have been purchased over 1,500 buses<\/strong>, which made it possible to renew about half of the regional fleet. The new vehicles, equipped with Euro 6 diesel, hybrid, methane and electric power supplies, represent a step forward in reducing environmental impact and adopting advanced technologies. To these are added 139 electric school buses<\/strong>, intended for municipalities with less than 15,000 inhabitants to transport primary and secondary school students. The investment is part of a broader strategy for the energy rationalisation of LPT, which also includes the creation of charging infrastructure to support the deployment of e-mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The resources of the Campania ERDF RP continue to support the development of the rail network in the Naples metropolitan area. After the interventions on Lines 1 and 6 of the Metro, the Cohesion Policy now contributes to the realization of the Line 10<\/strong>, which will connect the centre of Naples with the Naples Afragola AV station in about 20 minutes. The 14 km long 12-station project is one of the most important projects for regional sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the same time, the purchase of 10 new generation trains<\/strong> for Line 1, it is allowing a progressive increase in the frequency of journeys, with a capacity of up to 1,200 passengers per convoy. New carriers are also planned for Line 6, with the aim of reaching a transport capacity of 7,600 passengers per hour and per direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Completion and activation of the new stations of the Line 6<\/strong> \u2014 Arco Mirelli, San Pasquale, Chiaia and Municipio \u2014 made it possible to start the service along the entire route, supplementing the existing stops. The new infrastructure has also contributed to urban regeneration, improving road and pedestrian infrastructure and establishing interconnection with Line 1 at the City Hall station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Programme also supported the renewal of the regional railway fleet with 24 new Trenitalia trains<\/strong>, with high standards of safety, accessibility and comfort. The introduction of these trainsets has improved the regularity of service and reduced CO\u2082 emissions by approximately 2 million kg<\/strong>, thanks to the replacement of diesel vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\nReinforcement of the metro rail network<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
