With the green light of the special regional commission Anticamorra e Beni confiscati, the annual program of interventions for the enhancement of confiscated assets 2021 is launched, approved by the Regional Council which allocates two million euros for the two-year period 2021-2022.
Among the valorisation actions announced, the entry of the Campania Region into the the Agrorinasce Consortium to strengthen institutional action in launching and relaunching the project to enhance the the Balzana Agricultural Complex intended for the Agri-Food Park of the typical products of the Campania Region.
During 2021, it is planned to adopt a public notice addressed to municipalities for the financing of actions aimed at the recovery and re-functionalisation of confiscated real estate, already assigned or to be assigned, to be allocated to institutional, social and productive activities. For each municipality, the maximum eligible amount will be EUR 200 000. In addition, a further public notice is planned for the current year aimed at supporting the beneficiaries of confiscated assets up to a maximum of EUR 50 000.
The valorisation and social reuse of confiscated assets have a strong symbolic value in the fight against organised crime. In this respect, Campania is the region that has achieved the best results by also implementing employment and reintroducing businesses that have been removed from crime into the legal economy.
