The Masterplan-PIV of the Vesuvius Coast has been activated

The Regional Council with Decision No 147 of 23 April 2026 has activated the Integrated Enhancement Program (Masterplan) the Vesuvius Coast with area target the territories of the Municipalities of:

Naples (Municipality 6 – districts of San Giovanni a Teduccio, Barra and Ponticelli), Boscoreale, Boscotrecase, Castellammare di Stabia, Ercolano, Massa di Somma, Pompeii, Portici, San Giorgio a Cremano, San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco and Trecase.

To the area target An area may be integrated. buffer It will include all municipalities which have interactions with the target area and which are not already included in other territorial development strategies or programming instruments.

The strategic lines identified for the development of this area are:

  • Regeneration and territorial enhancement aimed at the landscape and environmental redevelopment of the coastline and the reduction of volcanic, hydrogeological risk;
  • Urban regeneration aimed at urban recovery of the identified area and promotion of actions for the enhancement of tourism and the use of cultural and natural heritage;
  • Strengthening and requalification of the agricultural supply chain system aimed at enhancing the products of territorial agricultural excellence and requalification of the agri-food industry;
  • Redevelopment and innovation of the production apparatus and manufacturing system, including through the regeneration of underutilised or decommissioned areas and industrial sites;
  • Strengthening of policies and structures for the reduction of social hardship and to promote actions of security and legality;
  • Strengthening and innovating the administrative system for faster and more effective implementation of operations;
  • Rehabilitation and environmental safety of contaminated sites, protection and rehabilitation of surface, underground and coastal water resources.

The Resolution programmed resources for a maximum amount of EUR 200 000 under the Campania-Campania RP 2021/2027 to support the drafting of the Integrated Programme for the Valorisation of the Vesuvius Coast.
