Culture of Campania is the digital ecosystem for culture promoted by the Campania Region.

Born from the integration of three projects with the regional information system and based on the Iter Platform, Cultura Campania was developed as part of the activities promoted by the Digital Agenda Campania 2020.

With an investment of about 30 million euros, an impressive work of selection, digitization and cataloguing has been launched, which has made it possible to make content and works from 7 cultural domains available and accessible.

In the virtual space of Campania Cultura it is possible to live an immersive experience in the Campania region. Anyone, through their device, will be able to access archival documents, consult books, admire monuments and works of art; visit archaeological excavations; discover cultural resources of cinema, music and entertainment.

The Campania Region’s digital culture ecosystem also makes data on Campania’s cultural heritage available in an open format, stimulating the development of innovative markets and the dissemination of digital culture in Italy.

To date, Cultura Campania has allowed the digitization of:

  • 115 3D reconstructions
  • 175 360° photos of the places
  • 20,000 music files on the Neapolitan song will be set up as part of the Music Portal
  • 470,000 catalog cards of the Regional Center for Cultural Heritage migrated to Cloud
  • Archaeological and historical-artistic heritage
  • 11,990 new ICCD catalog cards in LOD optics
  • 46,852 ICCD catalogue cards revised from a LOD perspective
  • Books and archival documents
  • Digitisation with a view to Linked Open Data (publication of structured data capable of being linked to each other)
  • 1,021,428 pages from Ancient Books
  • 944,642 papers/bobbins from archival documents
  • 4,000 ancient records and vinyls
  • 4,000 Photos, video and audio
  • Libraries (1,300,000 digital shots)
