The Vice President of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola, spoke at the award ceremony of the 54th edition of the Giffoni Valle Piana International Children's Film Festival. The Giffoni Film Festival which, as Bonavitacola recalled, risked jumping due to a lack of funds. The Festival was held with the support of the Campania Region, which invested part of its resources in European programming. To give continuity to what Bonavitacola has defined as a ‘brave idea’ that must give young people confidence and encourage them to try to achieve their aspirations.
The founder of the Giffoni Film Festival, Claudio Gubitosi, in commenting on the 2024 edition, spoke of an unforeseen success, given the difficulty in finding funding. An investment, reminiscent of Gubitosi, does not finance a festival, but a cultural hub that enhances the funding received by redistributing wealth on the territory, generating jobs, supporting related industries and providing opportunities for training and growth.
