The Memorandum of Understanding on the Masterplan for the regeneration and enhancement of the Cilento South Coast was signed at Palazzo Santa Lucia, in the presence of President Vincenzo De Luca and the mayors of the municipalities concerned. With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipalities of the Campania Coast of the Cilento South coast, the Campania Region confirms and continues the programmatic path of development of its coast, operating a specific programming and design path, in analogy with what has been experienced on the Domitio-Flegreo Coast and on the Salerno South Coast.
The target area called Cilento Sud includes municipalities of particular naturalistic value that are part of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park: Ascea, Camerota, Casal Velino, Centola, Ispani, Montecorice, Pisciotta, Pollica, San Giovanni a Piro, San Mauro Cilento, Santa Marina, Sapri, Vibonati. The Protocol provides for a plurality of integrated actions, based on sustainability and consolidation of the infrastructure endowment, combating poverty and hardship and aimed at improving security, accessibility of services, enhancement of the cultural and tourist identity of the areas concerned.
